Federal Government of Nigeria orders 53 gold plated iPhone 5s for 53rd independence celebration

The Chief Executive Officer, Gold and Co., United Kingdom, Amjad Ali, has told a United Kingdom newspaper, The Independent, that the Federal Government has ordered 53 gold-plated iPhone 5S mobile handsets  from his firm as part of the memorabilia for the nation’s 53rd Independence anniversary on October 1, 2013.  The gold iphones are said to worth £2.65m (about N682m).

Each of the gold-plated iPhones costs up to £50,000, said The Independent, in its report on Wednesday.  The minimum cost of basic models of iPhone in gold or rose gold is £3,000.

The 53 special phones are to be supplied by Amjad Ali, a Bristol-born owner of Gold and Co. based in Dubai.  Ali, who told The Independent that his firm was “fulfilling an order from the Nigerian government for 53 gold-plated iPhones, added, “We will engrave them with the coat of arms, a shield and two horses. “However, he neither disclosed when he received the order for the item nor the Federal Government agency or ministry that contracted him.

Gold and Co supplies royal families, governments, and minted customers across Russia, China and the Middle East with special phones.

Khloe Kadashian removes Lamar Odom from her profile pix

The news about Lamar Odom just keeps getting worse. Despite the somewhat encouraging report that he'd entered rehab for substance abuse on Wednesday morning, he didn't remain there.

The former NBA star had agreed to seek treatment in response to his defense attorney Robert Shapiro's ultimatum: He would help Odom with his legal problems, but only if Odom checked into the lawyer's rehab center (which Shapiro started after his own son died of a drug overdose in 2005).

Though Odom agreed and entered the facility on Wednesday, he checked out Thursday afternoon. Now he's said to be missing, though People reports he's been spotted in L.A. 

Meanwhile, his wife Khloe Kardashian has switched out her Twitter profile photo (which used to be an intimate pic of the reality star and her husband) and replaced it with one of just her, standing tall over two Mercedes SUVs (which sell for an average of $120K a piece).  See her new profle picture below.

As an impressionable young man, I alacritously threw myself into the whirligig of improving my usage of words by amassing new words on a daily basis.

I relate with my family and friends very warmly and in an atmosphere of camaraderie, stripped of my confutational habiliment and gladiatorial homilies. I am a very peaceful, calm, level-headed and celestially attuned soul personality.
