Business activities at the mall were disrupted at Ikeja City Mall, Lagos, on Tuesday as a fire burnt down some sections of the mall.
While there was no casualty and property worth billions of naira was salvaged, the incident disorganized some of the customers and workers at the Mall, who were stranded in the rush for safety.
Sources say the fire broke out at the Mr. Price retail store section, at about 11a.m, but was put out by firefighters who arrived soon enough.
It was not yet clear, as at the time of this report, the extent of damage done at the scene of the incident, as all the entrances to the mall were cordoned off by security personnel to ward off potential thieves, and the mall temporarily closed.
The Ikeja City Mall, houses about a hundred 100 retail and wholesale shops.
