Diary of a Lagos working housewife - Part 7

DH is coming back…yippeeeeee. The first thing on my mind was to get a relaxing massage. Even though I was yet to solve the issue of the scattered house, I couldn’t be bothered.  DH once mentioned that my skin was softer after a massage, so what better way to treat him that welcome him with a very soft skin….hehehehe
I am an ardent fan of dealdey online store.  I check the website almost everyday and you could call me a massage prostitute, because anytime there is a massage deal on dealdey, especially if the parlor is on the island, you would find me there.  I once bought a deal for a massage at Ikeja.  I bought 3 tickets at the time and ended up with 3 hours massage and sauna treatment, because I couldn’t make three trips and my friends whom I offered the extra tickets, couldn’t make the trip either.
I made my appointment for my massage for about 5.45pm.  I reckoned that would give me enough time to pick DD from school and get to the massage parlor.  I closed from work at exactly 5pm, thanks to the god of traffic, navigating VI roads wasn’t such a big deal today.

Picking up DD took much more time than I envisaged as I ended up in our little adult chat with other parents at her pre-school.  So, I was still at DD’s school by 6pm.  I had no choice but to call the massage parlor that I would be running late.  After agreeing that I would be paying overtime charges, I made my way to the massage parlor.  By now you may be wondering what I plan to do with DD during my massage…hehehehehehehe.  I had two choices, one was to go for my massage before picking her from school or to pick her and we go for the massage together.  I chose the latter because the last time I went to the salon using the first option, I ended up paying so much for late pick up fees.
Well, it isn’t our first massage together, so it was not an issue for us.  While I was getting my massage, she watched her mini dvd and everyone was happy.  Also, I was quite at peace knowing she was nearby; even though she disrupted my peaceful mood a couple of times, I really didn’t mind.  My massage was another story…. It was so lovely!!!! I had two masseuse…and for just N3,500.  They sure beat my usual massage parlor hands down.
Afterwards, I rushed home to prepare dinner.  I had called my live chicken lady to prepare the chicken for me and I bought pepper inside traffic…I know right but I must tell you that the pepper being sold in traffic is way cheaper than what I get in the market and its also more convenient so I continually patronize them.  I got home in good time and just as I was about to start cooking, I got a text from DH that his flight had been postponed till the next morning.  I was quite disappointed, all this trouble for nothing.  I thought to myself and hoped he wasn’t playing his usual prank of catching me unawares.   His excuse seemed so logical that I switched back to my lazy mode and took my time to cook the chicken while watching some movies.  So here I was, house still scattered, no dinner cooked and just lounging in the living room, when 2hours later, the doorbell rang and it was DH!!!!!!!!

DH – Dear Husband; DD – Dear Daughter.
