14year old swims across lake Ontario

According to CNN, a Canadian 14 year old Annaleise Carr, swam across lake Ontario thereby completing a 27hours, 31.6miles solo swim and becoming the youngest ever person to make the trek.

Annaleise swam to raise money for childhood cancer.  She commenced her Charity swim from Niagara on the lake at 6.17am ET on Saturday and climbed out of the water at the Toronto Marilyn Bell Park at 8.58pm on Sunday.

She was accompanied by staff in a Kayak and inflatable boat to the shore. Upon the completion of her Swim, the teenager did not speak to the gathered crowd, but instead went to the hospital for a standard check up.

Annaleise swam with the aim of raising $30,000 for Camp Trillium, a childhood cancer center. However as of 5.23pm on Sunday, she had raised $80,000 according to her parents who updated her progress online.

She was allowed breaks to eat during her swim but she had in stay in the COLD water. She started swimming competitively since the age of 4 and chose the Lake Ontario because she wanted to accomplish something difficult for the Children who fight cancer.

Lake Ontario is one of the hardest open swims in the world. Such generosity and bravery......her parents are so proud of her.
