Why do shirts need cuff links?
Why do shirts need cufflinks? Why can't we just have fancy buttons and everyone especially lazy ones like me can move on easily. I usually try not to purchase shirts that require one to use cufflinks but it seems that the shirt makers are mocking me, because all the shirts that I kind of like to have been designed without buttons.
So now, I have a couple in my wardrobe. For the past one week, I have been putting off wearing any shirt that requires me to use cufflinks, one because I cannot find my cufflinks and two because I don't like fixing them. I was not so lucky this morning which is the reason why I am writing about it now. Apparently the shirt I chose to wear needed cufflinks and I didn't know until this morning. For the benefit of those who do not know how ladies choose their outfits for any day, some of us usually prepare our outfits in advance, you know the shoes to wear, bag, jewellery, make up, intimates etc...the disadvantage of this planning is that you already have an image of what you want to look like for a particular day- that is if, you have not worn the full outfit already just to know how the whole combo will look.
That was the situation I found myself in this morning. Quite unlike me, I did not try on my outfit because I overdid the previous night's dinner and had a sleepless night due to a running tommy. Unfortunately, I was also yet to choose my outfit for thursday and friday, so could not swap outfits so I had no choice but to wear the shirt. After struggling to fix my cufflinks for about 15mins without succeeding, I put them in my bag and set out to work. I am sure someone is wondering what is the big deal about fixing links ( I can call them that right?) Well I do not like the pin ones because the designs are limited and I cannot afford the ones that catch my fancy, so I go for the regular cotton ones- ah ah....you see my point!!!! whoever makes those links is just out to frustrate the users.
So can anyone assist me to answer the question of why do shirts need cuff links? Because I just don't understand why...a button does the same job - right??
