Fashola Clears street traders at Computer Village Lagos
The governor of Lagos State, yesterday morning cleared the famous Computer village in Ikeja yesterday with the "kai" and security forces.
The Computer village is the largest IT market in Africa. You can find a wide array of branded computers and cloned PCs here. Popular brands include Compaq, HP, Dell, Toshiba, Acer, and several others.
This Lagos computer market is also host to a multitude of computer accessories, digital cameras and camera accessories, and mobile phones and accessories.
Any visitor to Computer Village, in search of any brands of phones, memory cards, laptops, and other gadget will know without asking that he has reached the village by the efforts of the street traders to sell their wares to the visitor.
However, some of the street traders also rob the visitors of their personal belongings which is why Lagosians have been clamoring for the sanitation of the market. Although, there are concerns about what will be a source of livelihood to the street traders, some Lagosians are relieved that the street traders have been cleared from the market.
