I took a little break to complete my master's thesis.
This is the concluding part of my initial post - Who takes a baby to school.
Living and schooling with my daughter in France was very challenging and interesting. I learnt a lot of patience as days rolled by. Some days it was pure fun, some days I freaked out and wondered if I made the right decision by bringing her with me . Some days were so stressful, the sleepless nights, the missed nightlife (seriously?)....
But I am generally happy that I didn't miss out on her growing up days. The first words, the growing of the molars, the first nursery rhymes etc. Let me recount some of the very interesting and unforgetable times-
Singing nursery rhymes on our way home and sharing 'bisous' as we stroll down the streets
Running down "Rue" La Source to catch the nanny before she takes the kids to school and running back to catch the earliest bus in order to make class
Eating hot amala on sunday afternoons and sleeping off right after the very hot meal
Sharing a stick of chupa chops as we wait for the bus or running and playing around in d parks...
My daily bear hugs and smiles with cries of 'maman' every evening when I go to pick her.
Painting our barney pictures in the bus with no care in the world
Roaming the streets of paris and getting privileged entry to museum because of my little tot....
Our team building activities - the legos, painting, screaming, laughing, chopping knuckles, hi-5s etc
As I finished my master's thesis today, I ran through the familiar Rue de La Source, this time not to catch up with the nanny, but to meet up my little girl....after my normal hugs, I lifted her up, gave her my own very big tight bear hug and I could see she knew it was a special moment....I told her gently...We did it babe!!!!!! Turned around and around till we got dizzy with laughter!!!!!
Yea, we did it, we worked together to get my Msc...she was a very good sport!
Guess who is back? Your number one fan
