The benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar ( A must read for ladies)

Apple cider vinegar is effective for pretty much anything – your skin, your hair, your house, and even your pets can benefit from its qualities. Raw, organic, unfiltered and unpasteurized, apple cider vinegar is so much more than a salad dressing!

1. Apple cider vinegar is a completely natural product. It is made from apple juice and is fermented to hard apple cider. It is then fermented a second time to apple cider vinegar. When using natural apple cider vinegar, we instantly decrease the consumption of unnatural chemicals in our homes and daily lives.

2. Apple cider vinegar can be used as a rinse for your hair after shampooing, and will aid in increased body and shine. I recommend recycling an old shampoo bottle, then filling it with 1/2 a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a cup of cold water. Pour the solution through your hair after shampooing several times a week for dramatic results.

Ladies, here are 4 tips on how to stay in great shape

Don’t sit for a very long time
If you actually cut short your time of sitting constantly in front of the TV or your PC, and move around in between your working hours or generally at home, chances are you will not put on weight and also maintain it well.
Make time for regular exercise
Though you might have reached your ideal weight but you still have to make some time for exercise on a regular basis. You don’t ideally have to carry on the same set of exercises that you previously did to lose weight, but doing any sort of exercise will ensure that you stay in form and do not put on weight again.

Do men really like a woman in red lipstick?? The answer will surprise you.

Most women have at least a shade of red lipstick in their make up purse.  But did you ever wonder if men really find women wearing red lipstick attractive??? Here is a report from a top fashion website.  The writer shares her story.
How many times have you read — or even heard from the source itself — that guys only like natural-looking makeup? One of the long-held rules of date night makeup has been to highlight your best features, but to keep your look as natural as possible. So when I got ready for a first date last week, the first thing I did was swipe off the red lipstick I wore to work all day. Don’t want to look too high-maintenance, right?
Turns out that assumption may not be true, at least with my guy. Thirty minutes into our date he asked me if I ever wore lipstick. Little did he know I was wearing a light rose pink at the time (too natural, perhaps?). “Men love lipstick on a woman,” he told me in his Scottish accent. “Red, pink. It looks so sophisticated and beautiful. It brings you back to the ’40s, when people spent so much more time on their appearance.”

The 5 Things Men REALLY Want In A Wife

#1 - Men want a wife who looks good.
Men are visual creatures. They get turned on by what they see. And if you really want him to stick
around, you need to look good for him! You don't need to look like a movie star, but make sure you take care of
yourself. You owe it to yourself anyway! ;)
 #2 - Men want a supportive wife.
No matter how much praise or how many compliments a guy gets from other people, ultimately he'll want YOUR
approval. He wants YOUR support.  You should be his no 1 fan.

Khloe Kadashian removes Lamar Odom from her profile pix

According to ivillage.com, If a picture is worth a thousand words, the reality star has made quite the Twitter statement about her marriage.  See the report below.

The news about Lamar Odom just keeps getting worse. Despite the somewhat encouraging report that he'd entered rehab for substance abuse on Wednesday morning, he didn't remain there.
The former NBA star had agreed to seek treatment in response to his defense attorney Robert Shapiro's ultimatum: He would help Odom with his legal problems, but only if Odom checked into the lawyer's rehab center (which Shapiro started after his own son died of a drug overdose in 2005).
Though Odom agreed and entered the facility on Wednesday, he checked out Thursday afternoon. Now he's said to be missing, though People reports he's been spotted in L.A.
Meanwhile, his wife Khloe Kardashian has switched out her Twitter profile photo (which used to be an intimate pic of the reality star and her husband) and replaced it with one of just her, standing tall over two Mercedes SUVs (which sell for an average of $120K a piece).  See her new profle picture below.

"I’ve spent an hour daily reading dictionaries in the last 20 years" - Patrick Obahiagbo

I sometimes check the meanings of the words he uses...and surprisingly they are always correct. Excerpts below...you may want to hold your dictionary.

Why do you always speak ‘big grammar’?
I am not really consensus ad idem with those who opine that my idiolect is advertently obfuscative. No no no, it’s just that I am in my elements when the colloquy has to do with the pax nigeriana of our dreams and one necessarily needs to fulminate against the alcibiadian modus vivendi of our prebendal political class.

How did you start speaking in this manner?
It all happened when my father brought me a teaser which stated that good orators had ruled the world and you must have to be a feisty orator if you must rule the world. As an impressionable young man, I alacritously threw myself into the whirligig of improving my usage of words by amassing new words on a daily basis.
How do you talk to your wife, children and even your friends?
I relate with my family and friends very warmly and in an atmosphere of camaraderie, stripped of my confutational habiliment and gladiatorial homilies. I am a very peaceful, calm, level-headed and celestially attuned soul personality.

Diary of a Lagos working housewife - Part 11

I have a meeting/training for 8:30am and here I am still ‘toasting’ my daughter to get up at 6:30am. Sometimes I wonder if my life would have been different if I were a full time housewife.  Definitely!!!! Who am I kidding?  Although at the moment, it seems to me that all I would need  will be a constant supply of gossip and some money to keep body and soul together.
There was no power supply too, the inverter gave up around 5am and I was really hoping and praying that PHCN will be nice enough to restore the power supply. If only they (PHCN) realize how depressing and annoying it is to move about with no power supply. Sighs!   I staggered down the stairs and proceeded to switch on the generator.  However, the kick start refused to come up – how perfect!!!.  I willed the generator to come up and even made a couple of promises to God, if the generator would just work for about 30mins.  After a couple of attempts to jump start the generator to no avail, I gave up and resorted to using the torchlight on my mobile phone to move about.  One would have thought that with all the noise in the media about the proposed generation of 40000MW since 2005 and the on-going privatization of the electricity sector, there would be constant electricity supply now.  I made a mental note to call the generator mechanic as I cannot rely on PHCN to perform their duties.

Diary of a Lagos working housewife - Part 10

Sometimes I wonder whether all the trainings we were given as young kids was to prepare us for this rat race. I look back to my childhood with so much joy, we did have fun growing up. Ironically, We were also very excited at the thought of becoming adults. If only we knew it was all about the rat race!!!!
I remember my first job when I was fresh out of school. For one, I had always day-dreamed about having a whole office to myself. You know like the ones we see in most movies. To my chagrin, I was put in the office pool alongside my peers and senior colleagues. It took me a while to get over the heartbreak. I think no one really prepares our mind for the professional world. The policies on resumption time, overtime without allowances, vacation and even sick policy. It is just assumed that when we find out, we will adapt.  I remember asking one of my senior colleagues at the time when I just got employed:
Me: how long have you been working here
Bola (not real name): about 5 years now
Me: you mean you have been coming here every day for the past five years and seeing the same people every day of your life (I literally screamed)
Bola: Yes, and I kind of don’t mind.
Me: oh dear......

Diary of a Lagos working housewife - Part 9

Today is not a good day, I thought to myself as I stood in front of the vending machine to buy another  drink.  I had initially bought a can of Fanta, but my body craved for more Sugar.  It’s hard to explain but sometimes, one really needs the sugar rush.  I chose a bottle of Vimto and started drinking it even before I got to the lift.  I mumbled a word of greetings to my colleagues in the elevator and kept gulping my drink.   I really was not bothered about drinking in the lift as my body needed the sugar  badly.  Initially, with every gulp, I wanted the next gulp in quick succession but as I gulped more, I became somewhat satisfied.  I always attributed the craving for sugar as a sign that I may have overworked myself and lost a lot of energy.  I happen to work in the service industry and sometimes, you just have to stretch your brain for the answers.  Read, assimilate, apply, summarise, convince a colleague, make a client happy - the list is endless.

Diary of a Lagos working housewife - Part 8

I woke up today in a very gay mood. Sometimes I am unable to explain the reason for my excitement but I have noticed that the days I have a very good sleep, I tend to wake up earlier and happier. Yea, I know what you are thinking, given that I live in Lagos, those days seem to be very few. Sighs!

I actually ‘crashed’ last night - that is what I call when I get so tired and nothing could have gotten me out of bed – not even the thought of breaking out with acne if I do not wash my face before hitting the sheets.  I was that fagged out!!! I even used a very harsh tone to get DD into bed. The weekend was a stressful one - just because I brought work home. It was very annoying as I couldn't watch the marathon of one of my favorite shows, running on DSTV.

Sometimes I am amazed at how work creeps on you when initially it looks like you have the whole time in the world to carry out your assigned task. Well this weekend, I learnt my lesson again, the very hard way as I had to work non-stop from about 2am to 10am on Sunday. Good thing is I got the task done but that also meant I spent the better part of the day catching up on sleep.

Diary of a Lagos working housewife - Part 7

DH is coming back…yippeeeeee. The first thing on my mind was to get a relaxing massage. Even though I was yet to solve the issue of the scattered house, I couldn’t be bothered.  DH once mentioned that my skin was softer after a massage, so what better way to treat him that welcome him with a very soft skin….hehehehe
I am an ardent fan of dealdey online store.  I check the website almost everyday and you could call me a massage prostitute, because anytime there is a massage deal on dealdey, especially if the parlor is on the island, you would find me there.  I once bought a deal for a massage at Ikeja.  I bought 3 tickets at the time and ended up with 3 hours massage and sauna treatment, because I couldn’t make three trips and my friends whom I offered the extra tickets, couldn’t make the trip either.
I made my appointment for my massage for about 5.45pm.  I reckoned that would give me enough time to pick DD from school and get to the massage parlor.  I closed from work at exactly 5pm, thanks to the god of traffic, navigating VI roads wasn’t such a big deal today.

George Zimmerman found not guilty of murder in Trayvon Martin's death

I am not very surprised at this verdict, given my knowledge of the US' jury system. I guess it is all about reasonable doubt....

Here is the report, according to CNN

George Zimmerman never denied shooting Trayvon Martin, but he said he did so in self defense. Late Saturday night, a Florida jury found him not guilty in the teenager's death.
The verdict caps a case that has inflamed passions for well over a year, much of it focused on race and gun rights.  The six jurors -- all of them women -- deliberated for 16½ hours. Five of the women are white; one is a minority.  When he heard his fate, Zimmerman had little visible reaction. He turned and shook the hand of one of his attorneys before sitting back down, smiling only after court was adjourned.

Martin's parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, were not in the courtroom when the decision was announced. But they shared their emotions on Twitter shortly afterward.
"Even though I am broken hearted my faith is unshattered I WILL ALWAYS LOVE MY BABY TRAY," Tracy Martin tweeted.
Zimmerman's brother, Robert Zimmerman Jr., said words can't express how relieved his family is. "Having said that, I don't think this is a time for high-fiving," the brother said. "I acknowledge -- we all have acknowledged -- that Mr. Martin, Trayvon Martin, lost his life. (But) it was not an act of murder. It was not an act of manslaughter."

Diary of a Lagos working housewife - part 6

I have been on a break for the last few weeks. Yes, everybody deserves a break..I know you don’t really take a vacation from life but in my mind, I like to give myself such luxuries.  What was the reason for my break, you would ask? Well DH was out of town for about 2weeks and just like any family where the head of the house is not around, I decided to enjoy my break by doing what I sometimes know how to do best – NOTHING!!! I watched DSTV like it was going out of fashion. Oh yeah, that was when I discovered that DSTV repeats the same movies day in, day out…what nonsense!!!! I don’t even want to go on about the fact that we are not getting real value for our very high monthly subscription.
As the days roll by, it occurred to me that I was trying not to miss him.  Day 1 was not bad, apart from the fact that I had to go drop him for his ride at about 3:30am which meant I was grouchy for the remaining part of the day, every other thing went according to my routine. If truth be told, sometimes I enjoy the break from life.  It gives me time to review my priorities, think about my relationship with everyone including God and also decide to make a better attempt at living.  By Day 3, I was becoming uneasy – hmmmm, but he had to travel so I kept my cool. It wasn’t helping that he was so busy and didn’t have time for my usual chattering.

Diary of a Lagos working housewife - Part 5

Hmmmm, did I really forget my shoes at home???? I replayed the whole scene again. I remember choosing the shoes for the day and putting it beside my bag. Where exactly I lost track of it was quite hard to fathom. After analysing the situation for about 5mins, I reckoned it wasn't worth brooding over as I needed a solution and a very fast one at that.

I did the usual thing, you guessed right...I updated my blackberry messenger  status...hehehehehehehe. While others laughed at my predicament, some offered a few suggestions. A friend pointed out that all would be well if I was not wearing flip flops.
Luckily, I was wearing a ballerina but my good friends know that unless I am ill, you cannot catch me in a pair of flats at work. Apart from that, my ballerina was not compliant with the dress code of my organization, thus it was out of the equation.

As I thought about what to do, it hit me that this would be the 3rd reoccurrence of this incident. The first time was very early in my career life, I was quite lucky that my aunt was working on the island at the time, so she was able to bring a pair of shoes for me. Pending when I picked the shoes from her, I remained semi-glued to my chair.  I wasn’t so lucky the second time as I had to wear my black moses sandal and literally hid in a corner where no one would notice me.

Are you for or against spanking kids?????

Growing up was fun, absolutely no doubt about that but it had some parts that we weren’t particularly fond of. Being spanked was one of those parts and I would be surprised if there are a lot of people in my generation who were not spanked once or twice during their formative years. We didn’t like being spanked but guess what, getting spanked for misdemeanors are part of the reasons that we are whom we are today. I am an advocate for change even though I tend to resist it at first but I have noticed that it is becoming almost an abomination to spank a child. Well, one of the change agents are the kids themselves. I remember spanking my 3 year old recently and she looked me straight in the eye about 40minutes later and demanded for an apology for getting spanked. Don’t get me wrong, I am not in support of physical abuse but using a cane as a corrective measure was something I grew up with and I must confess that it was one of the things that shaped me. Even the bible says spare the rod and spoil the child. So I am a bit concerned as to whether the no cane policy that we are adopting in this jet age will suit the 21st century kids - a generation with more daring and assertive kids. If you ask me, I am for using a cane ( and I don’t mean electric cables or other harmful whips) as a corrective measure but such kid must know the reason why he/she is being spanked. Also depending on the age of the child, little punishments like facing the wall, the naughty corner or taking away TV time and favorite toys might work. But are we saying we shouldn’t spank at all??? Can we sustain this without spoiling the child?????

Diary of a Lagos working housewife - Part 4

I finally got out of bed and started my morning routine. The first thing I did was to wake DD before heading to the bathroom. She spends an average of 20minutes every morning attending to the call of nature, so the idea is to use her quiet time - that is what I call it... to get ready.

Me: wakey wakey baby

DD: is it time to wake up?

Me: yes dear

DD: I want to sleep

Me: That makes two of us, but it's time to wake up. Cou cou baby, do you want to go to school?

DD: yes

Me: it's time to wake up

DD: ok.  Am I going to school

Me: Yes.

It's very funny how anytime she agrees, she proceeds to do what is necessary. Well, I must comment that today is one of my lucky days because the time it took to wake her up was less than the usual 5 minutes. And to think we have the same conversation every school day???? God bless mothers!

Diary of a Lagos Working Housewife - Part 3

So about my driver, he resumed on the 2nd day after I resumed for work. I had been in search of a driver way before my resumption date and I told everyone around to assist with one. My first candidate was a young guy from Anambra who wanted to become a driver because of the ban on motorcycles on some select Lagos roads. His driving experience is less than mine, yet he wanted to collect 50k per month.  While interviewing him, I imagined the crazy drivers that were on Lekki-Epe expressway, the many hazardous roundabouts along the expressway and all the madness that stresses even me as a semi-experienced driver.  It was a definite no-no!!!
I had always wanted an elderly person to drive me though, i.e a man with some form of responsibilities so I can be sure of his going concern ability. Who would blame me? Well my second candidate matched this description, thus I was very excited at the prospect of interviewing/meeting him. He also wanted to collect 50k but I was more inclined to pay him given that he met my requirements.  All this was before I found out the going rates for personal drivers in Lagos sha.  Anyways, he never showed up for the interview/meeting and all effort to reach him on the day of the interview, and the day after proved abortive.  He finally called us a week later but at the time, I was too peeved to even deal with him. Need I say, DH handles all these difficult tasks because, like I mentioned earlier, I am melodramatic.

Diary of a Lagos working housewife - Part 2

Continued from Part 1
I have been accused of the fact that I am very melodramatic. I ran outside to meet him so we can discuss the phone call that I just received. In all fairness, he gave me the phone to receive the call but even at that, I still have to know who Elizabeth is. Abi??? Before I got to him sha, I composed myself, I mean, I sha know the man I married.
Me: DH, who is Elizabeth from Ajah
DH: You have started again abi.
Me: I am serious, I just received a call from her (If only he knew how hard I am trying not to scream and shout!!! How did she get your phone number , why is she calling you on a Saturday, you better start talking!!!!!)
DH: I don’t know who she is…seriously

FRSC Warns: Make Phone Call While Driving and Go to Jail

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has announced a newly adopted strategy that would ensure that any person caught using the mobile phone while driving, would no longer be fined but immediately taken to court and jailed.

Corp Marshal, FRSC, Mr. Osita Chidoka said other offences like speed driving, dangerous overtaking and overloading would equally attract court action instead of the usual fines.
The FRSC boss, who was speaking at a news conference in Abuja, said these new measures are part of a newly launched campaign to reduce the increased spate of road crashes in the country.
Commercial bus drivers are now expected to install speed limit devices in their vehicles so they henceforth should not exceed 100km per hour.

Diary of a Lagos working housewife - Part 1

My alarm rang at about 4:30am, yes, I set the alarm for 4:30am, what I was thinking the night before, I really have no idea but all I remember is I couldn’t even move to snooze the alarm.  It was about 6am before it finally hit me that it was a Monday….I scurried out of bed to start my morning rituals which included getting my darling daughter (DD) ready for school.
You may wonder why I call myself a working housewife, well it’s very simple. I work in Lagos from 8 to 5 and I still have to take care of my home front.  I have deciphered some skills to help me cope with the demands and will share some along the way. Some are hilarious that even I wonder what I was thinking at the time, but the good thing is, it works for me.

Do women have unrealistic expectations???

I have started to brood over whether as women; we have unrealistic expectations of our spouse or spousal equivalents.  Of course, the fact remains that the same rules will not apply to everyone but needless to say, my experience in life, my own expectations of those who surround me and listening to what my fellow ladies expect of their men, I am inclined to say that we ladies have unrealistic expectations.

But seriously who will blame us?? Our nature as emotional beings plays a very big role in this if we look at it. Of course, one also shouldn’t undermine the fact that we grew up watching the lovely prince go through all sorts of ordeal in order to rescue sleeping beauty, so why shouldn't our men do the same for us.

Another Baby Born With Quran In Lagos

Residents from various parts of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have been coming to catch a glimpse of a baby allegedly born with a miniature Quran at 9, Oguntade Street, Shasha area of the state.
Incidents like these are scientifically impossible, but residents of the area say it is true even though some of them confessed that they did not see the baby clutching the miniature Quran, the holy book of the Muslims. They were only told about it.
It took efforts for P.M.NEWS reporters to gain access into the one-room apartment of the baby’s parents as a result of the crowd that took over the place.
The mother of the baby, Kabirat Lamidi, a 32-year old hairstylist, said right from the conception of the baby, she had been sick.
She said when the baby refused to come out after 11 months, she went for a scan where it was shown that she had an object in the womb with the baby.

How to cope without a HOUSEMAID!!!!!

Try asking an average homemaker what they think about a domestic help and you can be sure that the response will be– they are necessary evils.  I am still amazed as to how something evil can be necessary.  We have heard different stories of domestic helps looting their boss’ houses, collaborating with armed robbers and kidnappers and some even go as far as seducing the men of the house.  We all pray that such will not be our portion (Amen). Nevertheless, these issues are drawing nearer on a daily basis and if we do not develop means of coping without domestic helps……well God forbid.
Let me say that I understand that the dynamics of life has changed – both men and women have to fend for the family and yet the role of the ‘family caretaker’ primarily lies with the mother.  Also, the same cap cannot fit everybody…thus for those that are lucky to find domestic helps that are just like family, lucky you!!! But for others…well you may just try the tips below, who knows, you may be glad you did.
Here they are:

Employees escape death as bus catches fire in gridlock

There was pandemonium at the Ox Bow Lake Road junction, Yenagoa in Bayelsa State, after a bus went up in flames in a traffic jam on Wednesday.
Our correspondent who was at the scene of the incident observed that the thick ball of flame that emanated from the Mitsubishi L300 bus forced motorists to flee the area.
The scene immediately attracted onlookers and sympathisers, who initially mistook the vehicle for a passenger bus.

But two persons, a driver and a passenger, struggled out of the bus unhurt.
They were, however, concerned about the bus and its content.
The apprehensive young men remained speechless for sometimes.
The driver, who was obviously confused, shed tears as he asked his colleague that he identified as Uche to call their boss.

Want to buy a BBz10, then you should read this!!!! Notable annoying differences between the BBZ10 and other blackberry models

I did not study computer science in school neither am I technologically savvy. I am just an average phone user who expects to get the best from her gadgets. I barely read phone manuals as I love to learn by doing, but of course, I do refer to the manual when I get stuck...especially with apple products....oh how I love my apple products....but erm erm....ok.

A friend of mine recently complained that Nigerian ladies seem to have turned blackberry phones into a fashion statement. I am not sure whether to agree with her or not, but if truth be told, an average, upstanding middle class lady in Nigeria desires to own the latest phone in town, once the bridge of affordability has been crossed.  I am not sure if everyone agrees with me, but I think we need a little bit of excitement in our lives. I personally love looking forward to events or any activity out of the ordinary. Who would blame me, imagine spending hours in traffic gridlocks with nothing but your own thoughts flowing through your mind. So maybe we just love the thrill of having something new and different...I mean we only get about a few of that in life anyways as other people and things in our lives are somewhat permanent.

Enough of the digressions - please see the annoying differences that I have noted.

When there is a change.....

I think we are generally wired to resist any form of change in our daily life's. ordinarily, doing the same thing for a long period of time can be very tiring but you really do not know how much you are embedded in those things until something happens to take you from the status quo.

I complain about not having enough time for myself, lack of adequate sleep, having my little girl ask too many questions, etc Maybe God heard my complains and decided to teach me a lesson. Recently I was opportune to attend a four day conference in calabar. Ordinarily, when I am going for any trip, I drag my daughter along since her dad has decided he isn't for nose-poking into the ways other people live their life's. Luckily we are getting around that. Anyways, right from when I was supposed to pack my bags for the trip, I started to miss my family.

Then it was time to say the goodbye for four nights. How do you tell a 3 year old that you are travelling for a few days....I tried and said...hey dear, mama is going to calabar this evening. You can imagine the shock of my life when my daughter replied, I don't want to go to school, I want to go to calabar. I was like, will you stay with your daddy and she goes, I want to go to calabar. Then the guilt trip started, I started wondering why I was going for the conference - but shouldn't I be thrilled that i was having a break from my routine???? the trip already felt like an intrusion into my everyday life.

Living in Lagos

I woke up at about 5am…hmmmm was it really 5am, I think I snoozed my alarm twice before I could struggle with disengaging  from the safe and warm embrace of hubby and the duvet. Seriously, why do I have to get up at 5am anyways…my workplace is only about 45minutes away. If only I wasn’t living in Lagos. Okies, I started the ritual of getting ready for work.  Luckily, I set out everything I needed the night before.  Everything apart from my handbag…on this occasion, I wasn’t interested in any of my other handbags. Why do we even bother to buy so many considering the stress of changing from one to the other….this is for my friends that think I am a shopaholic…now I just get to admire the bags that I like and move on.  Its official!!! I cannot own/buy them all. It seems once you have paid for the bag and taken it home, the beauty that attracted you to it in the first instance fades away….#phew#

Compatibility test

I remember our growing up days particularly in secondary school….or wasn’t that when we had ‘confirmed’ crushes on one another? Anyways, we had a funny game we played to determine whether the person we had a crush on was compatible with us. It sounds so silly now, but at the time it was a major factor in determining whether we should daydream about the fella or just move on to another crush. We simply put the person’s name over ours…like using the division formula in mathematics and then cross out the letters that we had in common.  Ladies, please tell me you remember this formula….so let’s presume that my name is Adeola and I have a crush on a guy named Oyewole…here is how the formula goes: hehehehehehe
Adeola
Oyewole

So after crossing out the common letters, in this case e,o,l…we have these letters-  a,d,a,y,w,o and e, we count these letters and check the table formulated to decide whether we are FRIENDS, ADMIRERS, LOVERS, etc. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the criteria for classification anymore. Someone can help me out please…..as we really took these results to heart.

Driver rapes 15 year old housemaid...blames it on the devil!

I don't even know what to say regarding this man's story as told by Punch newspaper.  Please see for yourself and share your thoughts. Thanks

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested a driver, Olusegun Ajayi, for allegedly raping a 15-year-old housemaid in Arepo, Ogun State.
The NSCDC authorities said the suspect had canal knowledge of the girl which caused her to bleed for two days.  Ajayi, however, told PUNCH Metro that his act was not rape since the victim consented. The suspect, who claimed to be a devout Christian, said he did not know the victim prior to the incident.
He said, “On Saturday night, I was returning from a party and was about to enter my house when I saw the girl sitting outside. I asked her what she was doing outside late at night but she said she was working in a house not far away from my workplace and was sent to buy sweets by her employer.

What you need to know about tinted vehicle glass!

The Nigeria Police High Command has observed with concern the unnecessary controversies that have trailed the recent Inspector-General of Police’s announcement on the ban on the indiscriminate use of tinted glass on vehicles plying Nigerian roads.
The Force has observed that one of the issues that have generated so much contention and sometimes endless arguments between police officers enforcing the ban on the one hand, and motorists on the other hand, is the contention by some vehicle owners that there is no valid law restricting the use of tinted vehicle glass in Nigeria. Others who claim to be aware of the legal restriction argue that because the tints on their glass are “factory-fitted”, they are under no legal obligation to obtain a permit. Yet, others hinge their arguments and objections on the fact that their car tints are not as dark as others and thus, should be excused from the requirements of obtaining permits.

Beauty Uses for Salt

It might sometimes be blamed for bloating, but salt holds a treasure of hidden beauty properties. From exfoliation to actually reducing puffiness in skin, try these uncommon — and incredibly effective — uses for the kitchen staple.
BEACH-WAVES SPRAY FOR HAIR: To create perfectly textured waves, dissolve a teaspoon of sea salt into an 8-oz. spray bottle of warm water. Add 1/2 teaspoon of liquid coconut oil and a dab of hair gel. Then just shake and mist.
BATH SOAK: Mix a cup of sea salt with a few drops of almond, coconut, or another essential oil and pour into running water. Adding salt to a bath permits less water to be absorbed by the body, reducing skin’s ‘pruning’ effect on fingers and toes.
DANDRUFF TREATMENT: Work crushed sea salt into the scalp before wetting hair to loosen flakes and better enable scalp treatments to penetrate.

A drop of extra virgin oil keeps the wrinkles away

The skincare industry is a booming industry. Every year, consumers spend billions of dollars on cleansers, toners, and moisturizers with the goal of destroying blemishes forever yet and hoping to restore the beautiful youthful glow we see on models in magazines. The problem with so many skincare products is that many have harsh ingredients that irritate the skin, including bleaching agents and fragrance. It seems like a losing battle because to kill pimples – One has to dry the heck out of his or her skin to get rid of acne, which strips the skin of essential oils that are needed to hydrate the skin and balance the pH levels. Do you notice that many of these skincare products also have natural ingredients infused in them, like extra virgin olive oil, which we as consumers feel somehow comforted knowing that we’re putting something on our faces that includes “natural ingredients?” So what are we supposed to do?

Obadare, renowned evangelist, dies at 85

Renowned evangelist and founder of the World Soul Winning Evangelical Ministry, Prophet Timothy Obadare, died in a private hospital on Thursday in Akure, at the age of 85.
An aide of the late evangelist, Pastor Michael Awe, and Chairman of Ondo State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Bishop Joshua Ketiku, confirmed that doctors at the private hospital, where the octogenarian man of God breathed his last, pronounced him dead around 4.45pm.
Awe, who had managed the media activities of Obadare’s WOSEM for many years, said the late prophet died of old-age-related ailment.

He said, “Baba had worked tiredlessly as a general in the army of Jesus Christ. He travelled widely within and outside the country for serious and rigorous evangelical activities for many years. These definitely took a toll on his health, considering the fact that he also fasted and prayed a lot, apart from engaging in long sessions of counselling.”

Fill up your fuel tanks peeps.....Petrol price to go up —Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday said the Federal Government would still remove fuel subsidy. But he said the government would first discuss the proposal with Nigerians before removing the subsidy.
The President said at the Nigeria Summit, which held in Lagos, “We cannot continue to waste resources meant for a greater number of Nigerians to subsidise the affluent middle class, who are the main beneficiaries (of fuel subsidy).
“We believe that as we progress, government is going to continue to enlighten Nigerians on the need to remove fuel subsidy.” (Mnat: We all know that the petroleum marketers will not wait for this long before the hoarding begins)
